Academics

Hamburg School administration and staff are committed to the success of our students. New Jersey schools began using the New Jersey Student Learning Standards since 2017-2018. Learning standards outline the skills that students should learn in each grade level. For more details on NJ Standards, please visit NJ DOE’s NJ Student Learning Standards.

Students are assessed at the state level using the New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA) assessment. The NJSLA test is administered each spring to our students in Grades 3-8. Additionally, the Hamburg School administers benchmark assessments using Measurement of Academic Process (MAP) testing through the educational organization called the Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA). Benchmark assessments are administered three times each year in the fall, winter, and spring. Data achieved through these assessments are analyzed by administration and staff and used to identify student instructional needs.
